We had a busy day today on a blustery Lough Owel with four candidates up for cox’n tests. Everyone was put through their paces with the challenge of very low water conditions and a stiff southerly breeze. It was a nice relaxed setup with good banter between members of the various clubs present.
At the end of a good day’s work all four candidates were successful so well done to James Cahill, Jem Howard, Frank Maxwell, and Cathal Sheridan. This will be a great boost to the club next year as it will make it a lot easier to organise a crew for weekend diving.
Thanks to Bernie McCarrick and to all the instructors for a well-run day.
